Review: Simba Hybrid Mattress Topper

This post has been written in collaboration with Simba and we were gifted the mattress toppers. All thoughts are my own.

At 11 and 13, my boys still currently share a bedroom. They’ve had bunk beds since my youngest was 3. I plan to separate them eventually so my eldest can have his in his own bedroom. The spring mattresses the bunk beds originally came with weren’t great, so we upgraded them to memory foam ones a few years ago. However, while they were better, they suffer from bobbling which need defuzzing regularly. When Simba got in touch and asked if we’d like to review their Hybrid Mattress Topper, how could we say no? It seemed like the ideal solution to refreshing the beds without having to replace the mattresses.

Simba is a UK-based company known for its innovative sleep solutions. Their mattress products are created by sleep scientists and expert engineers using sleep research and data from more than 10 million people.

Simba Hybrid Mattress Topper

The Simba hybrid mattress topper has been created to instantly transform any mattress, giving it a new lease of life. It has a unique combination of patented Aerocoil springs and responsive memory foam. The springs provide targeted support to different areas of your body and not only that, the hybrid materials are designed to keep you cool and comfortable. Sounds like the perfect combination to ensure a good night’s sleep!

The mattress topper arrived vacuum-packed in a box with carry handles so you can transport it with ease. We had no issues getting the topper out of the box. However, it was easier with an extra pair of hands to help unroll the topper and remove the plastic. As the toppers were being used on bunk beds, we unrolled them onto the floor first before popping them onto our existing mattresses.

The hybrid topper has an anti-slip base and straps on each corner to attach to your mattress to minimise movement.

There is a slight chemical odour when you first unpack the toppers. However, this is completely normal. We left the toppers to air out with the window open for around 5-6 hours and didn’t notice the smell afterwards.
