How I check these deals: I only move an offer into the confirmed section once I’ve found 2026 details directly from the restaurant or brand. Newspaper and social media reports stay in the “to watch” section until I can verify them.
Restaurants often don’t announce their Results Day offers until shortly before the big day, so I’m updating this guide as new deals are confirmed.
A-Level Results Day took place on Thursday 13 August, and GCSE Results Day is Thursday 20 August 2026.
Quite a few restaurants have now confirmed their GCSE Results Day offers for 2026, including Nando’s, Zizzi, ASK Italian, Bella Italia and Wildwood. There are still a few I’m keeping an eye on too, so I’ll keep updating the list as we get closer to Thursday.
As always, it’s worth checking the individual restaurant’s terms before travelling, as availability and participating locations can vary.
GCSE results day is one of those slightly strange parenting milestones.
For months everything has revolved around revision timetables, exam stress and trying to keep teenagers vaguely focused on past papers. Then suddenly it all comes down to one envelope.
Within minutes the phones start buzzing, group chats light up and teenagers are already asking where everyone is going afterwards.
Because for a lot of them, celebrating usually means food.
Every year a few restaurant chains run GCSE results day free food deals or discounts for students celebrating with friends, so it’s become a bit of a thing.
Over time restaurants have definitely clocked onto it. Quite a few chains now run little promotions on results day – things like free desserts, starters or discounts if students show their exam results.
It’s become a bit of an unofficial results-day tradition.
You’ll often see groups of teenagers heading straight from school into town, still clutching envelopes, trying to decide where to eat. I can already picture ours doing exactly that – results envelope in one hand, phone in the other trying to decide where to go.
When Is GCSE Results Day 2026 in England?
GCSE results day in England will be Thursday 20 August 2026.
Most schools open from around 8am so students can collect their results in person. Some schools also release them online later in the morning, although many teenagers still prefer going in to collect them with friends.

Once the results are out though, the focus tends to move pretty quickly to celebrating.
Restaurant offers change every year and many aren’t announced until just a few days before Results Day. I’ve separated the deals below into confirmed GCSE Results Day offers for 2026 and restaurants to watch, so it’s easy to see which promotions are definitely running on 20 August.

A few more restaurants have either been reported as running GCSE Results Day deals this year or have offered Results Day freebies in previous years. I’ve listed them below, but I’m keeping them separate from the confirmed deals until I can verify the 2026 offer directly with the restaurant.

Some of these restaurants ran promotions for A-Level Results Day 2026, while others have offered GCSE or Results Day deals in previous years. We’re waiting to see which offers will be available for GCSE Results Day on 20 August 2026. Offers and terms may vary by restaurant and participating location.
Confirmed GCSE Results Day Deals 2026
ASK Italian
ASK Italian is celebrating GCSE Results Day with a slightly different kind of freebie this year – and parents need to get involved too!
On Thursday 20 August 2026, students can get a free main meal if their parent or guardian correctly answers a GCSE-style question.
You’ll be able to choose a question from Maths, English or Science. Get it right and the student gets their main for free. Get it wrong and, as a consolation prize, the parent or guardian gets a complimentary glass of fizz or a non-alcoholic alternative instead.
To claim the offer, students need to bring their official exam results slip, and at least one other main meal must be purchased.
The offer is dine-in only and can’t be combined with most other ASK Italian offers or discounts. ASK also recommends booking ahead and adding “results day” to your booking request.
So, no pressure parents. You might want to brush up on your GCSE knowledge before you go!

Banana Tree
Banana Tree is offering students a free starter and dessert when they buy an adult main meal on Thursday 20 August 2026.
To claim the offer, students need to sign up for a unique voucher and show their exam results when they visit.
Everyone at the table can claim the offer if they have their own valid voucher and results, so it could work well if a group of friends are celebrating together.
The offer is available at all Banana Tree restaurants, but can’t be used with other discounts, set menus, takeaway, Click & Collect or delivery.

Bella Italia Celebration Offers
Bella Italia is giving students a free starter and dessert when they order an adult main meal on Thursday 20 August 2026.
You’ll need to sign up for a unique voucher before visiting and show your exam results when you dine.
Everyone at the table who has signed up, has their own voucher and can show their results can claim the offer with the purchase of an adult main.
The offer isn’t available at selected locations, so it’s worth checking the full terms before booking.

Bill’s
Bill’s is offering students a free dessert on GCSE Results Day, Thursday 20 August 2026.
To claim it, you need to order a main course or brunch from the À La Carte menu and show your 2026 exam results.
The offer is available from 11.30am, with one free dessert per eligible guest. Multiple students on the same table can claim it too.
Bill’s Heathrow Terminal 2 is excluded and the offer can’t be combined with most other promotions or discounts.

Byron
Byron is celebrating Results Day with a 2-for-1 burger offer, which could be a good one if your teen is heading out for food with friends after collecting their results.
Students can get two burgers for the price of one, with the cheapest qualifying burger free.
You’ll need to show proof of your 2026 exam results to claim the offer. As always, it’s worth checking the full terms and participating restaurants before heading out.

Frankie & Benny’s
Frankie & Benny’s is giving students a free starter and dessert when they order a main meal on Thursday 20 August 2026.
You’ll need to sign up to receive a unique code and show your exam results when you visit.
Everyone at the table who meets the offer requirements can claim, which makes this another good option if your teen is heading out with friends after collecting their results.
Airport restaurants are excluded, so check the full terms before booking.

Giggling Squid
Giggling Squid is celebrating GCSE Results Day with a free portion of Sticky Chicken when students purchase a main dish.
The offer runs from Thursday 20 August to Sunday 23 August 2026, so there’s a little more time to use this one if you already have plans on Results Day itself.
Students will need to show valid proof of their 2026 GCSE results to claim the offer. It’s available for dine-in only at participating Giggling Squid restaurants and can’t be used with other promotions or discounts.

Las Iguanas
Las Iguanas is offering a free starter and dessert with any adult main purchased on Thursday 20 August 2026.
The offer is available for tables of up to six guests, and exam results need to be shown to claim the free food.
Some menu items are excluded, including Loaded Nachos for Two, Three Way Wings, Taco Sharing Board and Ten Churros.
You’ll need the Results Day voucher and the offer can’t be combined with most other promotions.

Nando’s Results Day Dash
The Nando’s Results Day Dash is back for GCSE students on Thursday 20 August 2026.
Students can get a free ¼ Chicken or Starter when they spend £7 or more.
You’ll need to show your GCSE results and student ID to claim the offer.
The deal is available for eat-in or walk-in collection, but you’ll need to order at the till rather than through the app or QR code.

Pizza Express
PizzaExpress is offering students 90 minutes of unlimited pizza and Dough Balls for £12.50 per person to celebrate GCSE Results Day.
The Bottomless Pizza offer includes unlimited selected Classic pizzas and Dough Balls for the table, giving students a pretty budget-friendly way to celebrate with friends after collecting their results.
Students will need to show proof of their 2026 exam results to claim the offer. It’s available at participating PizzaExpress restaurants and booking is recommended, especially if you’re planning to go on Results Day itself.

Prezzo
Prezzo is offering students celebrating their GCSE results a free drink when at least one adult main meal is purchased.
Unlike most of the Results Day deals, this one isn’t just available on Thursday 20 August. The offer runs every day until 4 December 2026, from 12pm onwards, so there’s plenty of time to use it.
Students will need to show proof of their 2026 results to claim the offer.
The free drink can be a regular soft drink, and for those old enough it can also include selected alcoholic drinks such as house wine, Poretti or a cocktail (ID will be required).
The offer is dine-in only and can be used for up to 12 people per bill, although there are some restaurant and date exclusions, so it’s worth checking the full terms before visiting.
Slim Chickens
Slim Chickens is offering students three free chicken tenders and a dip to celebrate Results Day.
The offer is available on Thursday 20 August 2026 for GCSE Results Day. Students will need to show proof of their results to claim the offer.

Wagamamas
Wagamama is giving students 25% off eligible food and drink on GCSE Results Day this year.
The offer is available on Thursday 20 August 2026 at participating Wagamama restaurants across the UK. Students need to show a valid 2026 results certificate to a member of staff before asking for the bill.
There’s no minimum spend, and you can actually use the offer more than once during the day if you want to.

AD Disclosure: We’ve been invited to enjoy a complimentary family meal at Wildwood following their inclusion in this guide.
Wildwood is celebrating both A-Level and GCSE Results Day this year with a free starter or dessert plus a free Coke Zero when students order a full-price main course from the À la carte or Special menu.
For GCSE students, the offer is available all day on Thursday 20 August 2026.
To claim the offer, students need to show the QR code from Wildwood’s Results Day page to their server, along with proof of their results. A student card may also be required.
The offer is available for dine-in customers at all Wildwood restaurants and is limited to one redemption per student. It can’t be combined with another discount, promotion or set menu.

Zizzi Results Day Deal 2026
Zizzi has one of the better Results Day offers this year, but you’ll need to get there early if you want the full freebie.
On Thursday 20 August 2026, the first 30 eligible students at each Zizzi restaurant can get a free Classic Pizza when they buy a soft drink and show their 2026 exam results.
If the 30 free pizzas have already gone, eligible students can still get 50% off one Classic Pizza until 5pm, again with the purchase of a soft drink.
The offer is dine-in only, with a maximum of six redemptions per table, and can’t be combined with other discounts or promotions.

Restaurants to watch for GCSE Results Day 2026
Not every restaurant has confirmed its GCSE Results Day offer yet. However, several big-name chains ran promotions for A-Level Results Day on 13 August 2026 or have offered GCSE Results Day deals in previous years.
Here are the restaurants worth keeping an eye on. I’ll move them into the confirmed section above as soon as their 2026 GCSE offers are announced.
Côte Brasserie
Côte has previously run Results Day promotions for students, so it’s another restaurant worth watching ahead of GCSE Results Day.

Chiquito has occasionally taken part in results day celebrations as well.
Students have previously been able to claim a free main meal when another main meal is purchased, simply by showing their exam results.
Like a lot of these promotions though, the exact details can vary depending on the location.

Itsu
Itsu is reportedly offering free gyozas to students on GCSE Results Day (Thursday 20 August 2026).
The offer has been reported by The Sun as part of its 2026 Results Day deals round-up, but I haven’t yet been able to find confirmation or full terms directly from Itsu.
I’ve left this one in the to watch section for now and will update it if Itsu confirms the offer.

Rosa’s Thai
Rosa’s Thai celebrated A-Level Results Day by giving away thousands of free Pad Thais. Students needed to register for the promotion, purchase a bubble tea and show their results.
We’re keeping an eye out for confirmation of whether the promotion will also be available for GCSE students.

Cinema Treats and Film Deals
Not every teenager wants to celebrate results day in a restaurant.
Some prefer heading to the cinema with friends instead. In the past certain cinema chains have offered small extras for students showing their exam results, like free drinks or snacks with a ticket.
These offers tend to vary depending on the cinema and location though, so they’re not always widely advertised.
If cinema plans are being discussed, it’s worth having a quick look at the cinema’s website or social pages just in case.
Check Restaurant Apps and Local Deals Too
The big restaurant chains usually get most of the attention around GCSE results day, but they’re not the only places that sometimes run offers.
If your teenager already has restaurant apps on their phone, it’s worth checking those before heading out. Lots of chains run app-only discounts that don’t always appear in national lists.
Places like Toby Carvery, Harvester and similar family restaurants often send vouchers through their apps. They may not advertise specific GCSE promotions, but something might pop up around results day.
It’s also worth checking local cafés and restaurants on social media. Smaller independent places sometimes run their own little celebrations for students — free milkshakes, desserts or discounted meals for anyone showing their results.
A Quick Tip for Parents
If your teenager is heading into town with friends after collecting their results, remind them to take proof of their results with them.
Most restaurants running results day deals will ask to see the results slip from school or a digital copy on their phone.
It sounds obvious, but it’s surprisingly easy for them to forget when they’re rushing out the door to meet friends.
After months of revision, exams and nerves though, most of them just want to relax with their friends and enjoy the moment.
Whether that celebration ends up being a big meal, a free dessert or just sitting somewhere together comparing results, GCSE results day is one of those milestones they’ll probably remember for a long time.
