Our Favourite Five – September

How is it almost the end of September already?! According to my Facebook feed it is now less than a hundred days to Christmas too!! Eeek!

E has settled back into the school routine nicely and M is now into his third week at nursery and is doing brilliantly. So here we are – our five favourites for September.

1. Alton Towers/CBeebies Land

This has to be top of the list this month – the boys had a whale of a time there and STILL talk about it on a daily basis. We even brought back the park map which they both pored over and point out all the scary and fast rides that they saw. They both found a new appreciation for Cbeebies too (in particular the Cbeebies bugs) I will be writing up a post about our trip (when I eventually get around to it!)

2. Nursery

m-nursery

I was quite apprehensive about M starting nursery but he really has taken to it like a duck to water and we have had absolutely no problems with leaving him there. He loves to tell us what he’s played with (usually trains and cars!) and what snacks he’s eaten too. He is really enjoying his new-found independence, being in a new environment and making new friends which is doing him the world of good.

3. #PackedLunchLove Lunchbox hacks workshop

I was invited to an amazing #PackedLunchLove workshop by Capri Sun a couple of weeks ago (a post IS coming on this soon – promise!) and it was fantastic. I learnt lots of tricks to make packed lunch fun and interesting just by thinking outside of the box (no pun intended!) and by adding in a few accessories. I’ve still yet to put these things to practice as yet but I have every intention to because M is not a sandwich lover so I have always struggled with coming up for ideas for his lunch – especially when we are out and about.

4. Brotherly Love

These two spent so much time over the summer together that they have really missed each other’s company now we are back to the school routine. After dropping E off for his first day in Year 1, M and I came home and he didn’t seem to know what to do with himself. Within 5 minutes he was asking “Where E gone?” Now M always tells me “We get E ‘nater?” and when they see each other they literally run-up to each other for cuddles which is just the cutest thing! It doesn’t mean they have stopped arguing over toys and who’s having what train though!

5. The 100

I mentioned our Amazon Fire TV Stick in our favourites last month which has lots of movies and TV series (a bit like Netflix). We’ve just finished watching the first season of The 100 but can’t seem to find when season 2 will be available. We can’t wait to find out what’s happened!

The 100 is a post-apocalyptic drama set in the future where a nuclear bomb has wiped out life on earth. The survivors live on 12 space stations orbiting space. The life support systems on the space station are slowly failing so 100 juvenile prisoners are sent to earth to find out whether it is habitable. There they find out that not all humanity was wiped out

That’s our favourites for September – what were yours?

  1. Lovely list of fave five! We’ve been to Cbeebies Land last year as well and my kids loved it, doesn’t even want to go home. We have also been watching the 100 and now looking forward to the start of season 3. #OurFaveFive

    1. The boys loved it at Cbeebies Land and they keep asking when we can go back! We currently feel lost without The 100 as I think we have to pay to watch the second season on Amazon Prime ;-(

  2. Great post & linky idea. How sweet that E & M miss each other. I haven’t been to Alton Towers in years – didn’t know there was now a cbeebies land! Sounds fun! #brilliantblogposts

  3. I loved the 100 when it was on. I also can’t wait for season 2. I haven’t seen anything advertised to say that it’s coming back soon, but I’m sure it can’t be long. I haven’t got my favourite 5 to link up, but have got a linkie on my blog called Life Loving Linkie if you fancy popping over and linking up?

With regards to packed lunches. Not one for the kids, but I’ve started making layered salads in large jam jars for my lunch. They are so pretty.
