You don’t want to spend all of your time in the summer months trying to maintain your garden, right? No, of course not. You want to make sure that you can enjoy all of the time that you have, and that doesn’t include mowing the grass what feels like every single day to keep it looking neat.

So, what you need to do then, is make sure that you’re taking measures to make your garden as low maintenance as possible. If you think that this isn’t doable, you’re wrong, and we’re going to show you how.

Wood Chips

If pulling out weeds is the absolute bane of your existence, we don’t blame you, we hate it too. They’re little nightmares that like to find their way through pretty much all surfaces, but wood chips can be your saving grace here. If you lay them down, they suppress the growth of the weeds, slowing it to a point where you will see hardly any, if you see any at all.

They are also fantastic for insulating the soil that they are above, which means that they can protect the plant roots from being exposed to extreme temperatures that could kill them. As they decompose, they are also full of nutrients for the soil.

Low Grass

In the summer months, you may find yourself out in the garden multiple times per week with your mower because you’re sick of your grass growing faster than the beanstalk from Jack and the Giant Beanstalk. The good news is that if you’re sick of this, then we have a solution for you in the form of artificial grass. You don’t have to worry about cutting it all of the time, whether it’s rain or shine, the grass will always stay the same length.

The only thing that you have to do to maintain artificial grass is clean it once in a while. When it starts to look grubby, that’s when you should do something about it, but it’s definitely nowhere near as much effort as if you were to have actual grass.

The big benefit of tropical plants is that they are going to find it easier to live in a wide range of different environments. Except for the occasional trim of course which will take just a few minutes of your time.
