Discovering Paradise: the top Caribbean cruise destinations
We are heading into the colder months, so it’s all about keeping warm and cosy. Snuggling under blankets with candles lit. However, this is also around the time I like to start thinking about planning our summer holiday – giving us all something to look forward to. We all love it when the sun is shining – even more so when we are away on holiday!
Now the boys are older, we can be more adventurous in choosing where we go. We’ve talked about the possibility of doing cruise holidays in the future. With a cruise holiday, you can plan and pay for everything up front, and when the time comes, you simply hop on board and start the holiday. Perfect.
I have heard amazing things about Caribbean cruises being the perfect getaway. Imagine being surrounded by turquoise waters, pristine beaches and palm trees swaying gently in the breeze. The Caribbean is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and a cruise will mean you can explore multiple destinations without lifting a finger.
The top Caribbean cruise destinations
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to Caribbean cruise destinations. Here are some must-visit destinations that should be on the top of your list.
The Bahamas

The Bahamas is a tropical paradise that needs no introduction. With its sparkling turquoise waters, vibrant coral reefs and stunning marine life, the Bahamas is a haven for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts. Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, offers a unique blend of colonial charm and modern attractions. Explore the colourful streets of downtown Nassau, visit the historic Fort Charlotte or take a dip in the famous Blue Lagoon. For a truly unforgettable experience, venture to the Exumas, a chain of islands known for their untouched beauty and swimming pigs.
Jamaica

Jamaica is synonymous with laid-back vibes, reggae music and delicious food. When you dock in Jamaica, be sure to visit the vibrant city of Montego Bay, where you can soak up the sun on Doctor’s Cave Beach or take a thrilling zip line adventure through the jungle. In the capital city of Kingston, immerse yourself in the birthplace of reggae at the Bob Marley Museum or explore the historic Devon House. And, of course, no visit to Jamaica would be complete without climbing the iconic Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios. I’ve found that the Sandals all-inclusive experience truly enhances the trip, offering a perfect blend of luxury and relaxation that makes you feel pampered every step of the way.
Aruba

Aruba is a true Caribbean gem, known for its pristine beaches, stunning sunsets, and warm hospitality. Palm Beach is the most famous stretch of coastline in Aruba, offering powdery white sands and crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkelling. For a more secluded beach experience, head to Eagle Beach, which is consistently ranked as one of the best beaches in the world. And when you’re ready for a break from the sun, explore the colourful streets of Oranjestad, the capital of Aruba, where you can shop for local crafts and indulge in Caribbean cuisine.
Cayman Islands

If you’re a diving or snorkelling enthusiast, the Cayman Islands should be at the top of your list. With its clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and abundant marine life, the Cayman Islands offer some of the best diving experiences in the Caribbean. Grand Cayman, the largest of the three islands, is home to the famous Seven Mile Beach, where you can relax on the soft sands or dip in the crystal-clear waters. Don’t miss the opportunity to swim with stingrays at Stingray City or explore the ocean’s depths at the Cayman Trench, one of the deepest points in the Caribbean.
Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, is a captivating blend of colonial history, vibrant culture, and natural beauty. Start exploring Old San Juan, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can wander through the cobblestone streets, explore ancient forts, and admire the colourful colonial buildings. For nature enthusiasts, a visit to El Yunque National Forest is a must. Hike through lush rainforests, discover hidden waterfalls, and immerse yourself in the beauty of Puerto Rico’s diverse ecosystem. And, of course, no visit to Puerto Rico would be complete without indulging in the local cuisine, such as mofongo and tostones.
Planning your Caribbean cruise itinerary
Now that you have a taste of some of the top Caribbean cruise destinations, it’s time to plan your itinerary. When planning your Caribbean cruise, consider the duration of your trip, the ports of call you wish to visit and the activities you’d like to experience. Most Caribbean cruises offer a variety of itineraries, ranging from short weekend getaways to week-long adventures. Decide whether you prefer a more relaxing beach-focused itinerary or one that includes a mix of beach visits, cultural excursions, and outdoor activities.
When choosing your ports of call, take into account the unique attractions and experiences each destination offers. Whether you’re interested in exploring ancient ruins, snorkelling in pristine reefs, or simply relaxing on the beach, there’s a Caribbean island to suit your preferences. There are many deals to be found on Caribbean cruises – you just need to spend some time doing your research. Places like MSC cruise deals offer a wide range of options to suit your needs. Look into the available shore excursions and choose those that align with your interests. Keep in mind that some activities may require advance booking, so plan accordingly to make the most of your time in each port.

![[AD] The sun has finally made an appearance and the boys have been making the most of it by spending it
in the garden.
They’re go-to is always football and they’ve been trying to improve their aim and accuracy with the new Messi Foldable Footlball goal from the #MessiTrainingSystem range.
I love the fact the goal is foldable, making it easy to store away when not in use. It is also lightweight so you can effortlessly pack it up and take it to the park or to a friend’s house.
The Messi Foldable Football Goal retails at £36 and can be purchased from @argos
