Our Favourite Five – October
It’s that time again where I get to pick our favourites of the month! Apologies this is late – my house was a complete tip and needed desperate attention so this post had to wait! We’ve had another busy month – but busy in a good way. It’s been a lovely month of quality “family” time with my nearest and dearest.
1. Halloween
My boys are ridiculously excited about Halloween. We decorated the house this morning before heading to the local garden centre for the Spooky Zoo and then coming back to hollow out our huge pumpkins ready for carving! Now M is a little older he understands what is going on a bit more and this year will be his first helping us with the pumpkins. We are off to the Family Travel show tomorrow during the day but will be back for Trick or Treating early evening. I am then hoping we will settle down in front of the TV for a spooky family movie
2. Sally Hansen Miracle Gel
I have never had a gel manicure before. It is something that has always been on my “to-do” list but as a busy mum, I never gotten round to it. I decided to treat myself to some new nail polish this week and spotted the Sally Hansen Miracle gel nail polishes in Boots. They are simply amazing – gel nails without the hassle of needing to go to a nail bar and there is no need for a lamp to dry the top coat. Best of all though? It all comes off with your regular nail polish remover!! It also gives you up to 14 days of colour and shine. Mine lasted 4 whole days before chipping which considering how much I use my hands is great! Normal nail polish usually only lasts a day or two before chipping.
3. Family Friendly Blog Brunch
We attended the Talk to Mums Family Playtime blog event a few weeks ago and I have to say it was one of the highlights of the month. The boys had lots of space to run around and have fun, play with toys and do some Halloween crafts. I got the chance to speak to some brands and chat with some fellow bloggers. Win-win for everyone!
4. Family time
My dear grandma came over from Hong Kong at the end of September and it’s been lovely to spend some time with her whilst she’s here in the UK. It’s pretty much going to be her last visit here so we have tried to make the most of it.
5. Frog Frenzy
The boys have been playing this non-stop recently. It’s the Early Learning Centre’s version of Hungry Hippos and they just love it! It’s been great for teaching M to start counting his colours too.
Early evening fun playing frog frenzy

You have been really busy this month but at least you still manage to pamper yourself. It was lovely that a family of yours came over for a visit, I would have liked a family of mine to visit me here in UK too but it’s not affordable at the moment. My kids are also overly excited about halloween and trick or treat, so hope it will remain dry later so our kiddies would enjoy it the most. Thanks for hosting again! #OurFaveFive
Its always nice to make time and pamper yourself! I hope you had a lovely halloween x
The pumpkin carving looks like fun! I like the look of the game too, that would be a good one to go on a wish list I think. Love the colour of the nail varnish too. Th maximum I have ever gone without chips was 4 days and it was an Avon gel varnish. It’s the way forward! Becky x #OurFaveFive
Ooooo I might need to check out the Avon gel varnish too – 4 days is amazing!
It’s a real bargain too 🙂 x
What a fabbo month – I wish I could take Oscar to those blog events. Maybe one day 🙂 Thanks for hosting lovely lady (and sorry mine was late!)
Ahh I’m sure you will be able to take Oscar one day – look how well he’s done so far on the day out to the Science Museum and eating out! xx
We look Halloween Too!! That nail polish sounds interesting. I like that it can be removed with a regular nail polish removal! I will have a look. That brunch day was fantastic. I already commented on your post. Great event. Family times are always the best times!! I understand you because my family is in Peru so when they come and visit it is really nice!!! We have a similar game but with crocodiles. Bella love it!!! It is so much fun!! Thanks for hosting #OurFaveFive I’m so sorry I’m too late but as you know I can’t keep up anymore!! But I guess it is always better later than never right? 🙂 xxx
