How to find the right supplements that work for your needs
You probably haven’t had experience with supplements before. And if you have, then you have probably come across countless products on the market. Either way, choosing the right vitamins that are tailored for your personal needs and health goals can be too involving. It doesn’t get easier by day as the internet is often flocked with contradicting or misleading advertising.
Nutritional supplementation can surely improve the quality of your health and life, but how exactly would you go about ensuring that you are taking the right nutritional supplements that work for your needs?

The key to get started is to assess your diet, know the essential supplements to go check out, and have a spectrum of what your lifestyle short-term and long-term goals are. So, how do you find the right supplements that work for your needs? Read on to find out more.
What are the essential vitamins and minerals required by the body?
Essential Vitamins
Vitamins are essential organic substances required at your body’s cellular level to function, grow, heal and develop. There are 13 essential vitamins that your body needs to properly carry out its functions, namely:
- Vitamins A, C, D, E, K.
- B vitamins, B6, B12.
- Biotin, riboflavin, thiamine.
- Folate, niacin, pantothenic.
A lack of or a major deficiency in any of the above essential vitamins thereof could result in serious health complications.
Essential minerals
Minerals are inorganic substances required by the body cells to carry out their functions. Unlike vitamins, minerals are inorganic, which means they lack carbon in their empirical formula. There are two categories of minerals based on the quantity your body requires, namely.
- Macronutrients: These are the minerals your body needs in relatively large quantities. They include; chloride, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium, and sulfur.
- Micronutrients: Also referred to as trace minerals, micronutrients are those that your body needs in smaller amounts. They include; zinc, iron, chromium, iodine, manganese, selenium, fluoride, copper, and molybdenum.
How exactly do you find the right supplements?
There isn’t a one-in-all directive on what to do in order to find the vitamins and minerals that would work for your needs. But with help from licensed dieticians with decades-long involvement in dietary supplements, we recommend that you take the following steps towards what to and how much supplementation to take.
Assess your diet based on established nutritional guidance
The United States Food and Drug Administration sets recommendations as to how many essential nutrients an adult can take for proper nutrition. There are nutrition labels on foods that list the nutrients contained therein, and the RDI for every nutrient. With such information, you can ensure that you are not consuming too much or too little of any particular nutrient in a day. Fortunately, the meticulously sourced ingredients from Dose + Remedy immune system support can make that easy for you. These supplements comprise powerfully blended nutraceutical pills formulated to optimize your body with all essential nutritional balance.
Assess your long-term health and lifestyle goals
The RDI refers to the base amount of nutrients any healthy adult needs for well-being. Whereas it offers a starting point on what your requirements are, the RDI may be more or less than what your true need is. It depends on one’s lifestyle and health goals.
You may need more of a particular nutrient and less of another. And if, for instance, you have a short-term goal such as pregnancy, you may need more iron and less of certain minerals.
Give a Health Practitioner your dietary record for assessment
Your dietary record is what you eat and drink on a per-day basis. You will need to avail a breakdown of this information to a health practitioner because a supplement to be recommended would merely supplement your current diet.
Visits a Physician for a Health Assessment

This information is vital as it will play a role in what nutritional supplementation the dietician could recommend to you. whether you are obese, overweight, or have any other health condition, it will all play a role eventually.
Supplements can be an indispensable part of your diet routine if done right. But that shouldn’t give you the license to dash and scoop the first supplements you come across. And whereas we don’t have a one-in-all formula to establish what can work for you, there are widely accepted means you can go by and find out what works best for your needs. Furthermore, it helps to do thorough due diligence because when it comes to nutritional supplements, there are plenty of variables that range from cost to ingredients. Either way, the safest strategy is to research to find out what is best for you.

![[AD] The sun has finally made an appearance and the boys have been making the most of it by spending it
in the garden.
They’re go-to is always football and they’ve been trying to improve their aim and accuracy with the new Messi Foldable Footlball goal from the #MessiTrainingSystem range.
I love the fact the goal is foldable, making it easy to store away when not in use. It is also lightweight so you can effortlessly pack it up and take it to the park or to a friend’s house.
The Messi Foldable Football Goal retails at £36 and can be purchased from @argos
