Are you an everyday hero?

We’d all like to think we are heroes in one way or another but sometimes you just don’t know how you will react to certain situations.

If you saw a fight breaking out between children and they were grouping around one child – would you step in to help?

How about if a pregnant woman had broken down on the side of the road? I’d think I would stop and check she was ok and offer to wait with her while help was on the way. I know that if I were in that situation, I would be very grateful for someone to do the same for me.

First formed in 1897, the RAC has been looking after the needs of its members for over 120 years. They are motorist’s champions that assist UK drivers when they break down in the middle of nowhere and need help with their cars so they can get home safely. They are putting motorist’s good nature to the test with a quiz to reveal driving habits that tell all.

What type of driver do you think you will be?

I’m a Reserved Rescuer

reserved-rescuer

Having taken the test myself I’m not surprised by the results at all, its pretty spot on. I have my children with me in the car 90% of the time so I would always need to think about their safety and needs first. It just wouldn’t be right to stop and leave them in the car whilst I go off to assist someone else. Having said that it would, of course, depend on the situation. If I was in the car with other adults I probably wouldn’t think twice about pulling over and helping someone.

What type of driver are you?

Everyday Hero
You’re the real champion of the roadside: a modern-day white knight, saving the day for the broken-down and stranded. If only there were more drivers like you…

Reserved Rescuer
In an emergency, you’ll step into some hero boots – but you’d rather stay safely behind the wheel. After all, you do have a life to lead.

Drive-on byer
You cruise down the road and don’t care for interruptions. You’d rather drive on by than help road users in dire straits. In your car, time behind the wheel is about looking after Number One.

Will you be an everyday hero, reserved rescuer or drive-on byer? Take the quiz here to find out what type of driver you are.
