Creating a touch of luxury in your home

We are all spending more time at home. People are increasingly staycationing and doing more entertaining at home these days. We are now just as likely to enjoy a night at home binge watching our favourite shows rather than venturing out to the cinema.

The fact that we are spending so much more time at home is leading many of us to invest more in our homes and turning our homes into luxury retreats. Here are a some of the ways you can create a touch of luxury in your home.

Install high-end showers

It is always worth investing in a decent shower. After all, most of us will use it every day and it feels great to be able to take a power shower, even better if you have a massaging shower head installed. If you have good water pressure, a hydro-shower is also an option.

Spa-baths

If you prefer to chill in the bath, it’s worth looking into the possibility of installing a Jacuzzi bath. They are nowhere near as expensive as they used to be, so are now within reach of many ordinary homeowners.

Install an en-suite

A private bathroom sounds like a real luxury so if you have the room, you can take a look at installing an en-suite.

Create a walk-in wardrobe

Alternatively, you can use that space to create a walk-in wardrobe instead. If your kids have left home, you could look at re-configuring the bedrooms. Often, this can provide you with enough space to create an en-suite or a walk-in wardrobe. Maybe both, if there is enough room.

Buy some nice linen

Sleeping in crisp linen always feels great. It is now quite easy to find hotel-grade linen, bathrobes, and towels in retail stores. Many of us like to spend a bit extra and buy a high thread count linen as well as soft furnishings that are made from luxury fabrics.

Invest in a hotel grade mattress

Getting rid of that old-fashioned bed with its lumpy mattress is also a good idea. Invest in good-quality mattresses and adjustable beds that enable you to read comfortably in bed.

You could also consider a Nolah mattress. They have a range of products to choose from, including their best flippable air foam mattress. Nolah Air Foam mattresses are made from temperature neutral air foam that is cooler than your usual memory foam mattresses. Nolah mattress also provides four times less peak press on the hips, shoulders and back.

Create an outdoor oasis

Homeowners are increasingly spending more time outdoors. Demand for patios and decks have soared.

Outdoor sofas and heaters are enabling people to create a way to enjoy their gardens more. The right lighting and a hot tub, enable you to come home and unwind in the garden.

Outdoor garden rooms

Some, who have enough space, are going one step further and building garden rooms. Everything from simple shed like constructions to prefab units made by professionals is available. In many places, it is not even necessary to seek planning permission to build a garden room.

A chill out shed

If you do not have enough space for a full-sized garden room consider creating a chill-out shed instead. Potentially, you can install a steam room or sauna in one corner and use the remaining floor space to accommodate a comfy chair. Somewhere you can read, listen to music or meditate. Alternatively, you could simply create a yoga shed. Click here for inspiration.
