When you are a mum of two boys, it is always a great idea to have some ideas for breaks, and activities stored away for the holidays. Then you know you can keep the little ones entertained and engaged, which is good for everyone involved. Somewhere in particular to consider is Bournemouth, as there are plenty of things that are geared towards little ones there.

Easy to get there

Bournemouth is a good choice and it’s easy to get to, even if you are travelling alone with the kids.

Of course, you can hop in the car and drive too. Just make sure that you plan in enough rest breaks for you and the little one to make the journey easier. As it can be hard for them to sit still for long amounts of time.

If you are in the London area why not take the train? Trains run directly from Waterloo to Bournemouth and cost around £25 for an adult ticket. Using a family travel together pass can save you money when buying everyone’s tickets at the same time too. So it’s definitely something that is worth looking into.

Making your stay easier

To get the most out of Bournemouth, you’ll probably want to stay for a few nights. Taking kids to a hotel can be a bit stressful because you have to be so conscious of everyone else that is staying there and not make too much noise. You can also be limited on space and what there is to eat as well.

If this isn’t going to work for your kids then why not pick another accommodation option? Holiday lettings in Bournemouth make a great alternative. It means you can cook your own meals, so you know the kids will be getting something nutritious and that they actually like. You’ll also have more space and privacy for the kids to run around in and you don’t need to be worried that they are disturbing other people with their play.

Or, if you are more of an outdoors sort of family, there are quite a few campsites that have facilities for caravans and tents in Bournemouth.  Although you may want to limit these stays for when the weather is a little warmer!

Things to do in Bournemouth with kids

Now the big draw of taking the kids to somewhere like Bournemouth is that it is set up with lots of things to do. There are seven beaches in the surrounding area, which are great for paddling, making sandcastles, and even the odd crabbing trip.

There is also the theme park called Adventure Wonderland nearby. Which is a great chance to inject a little fun into everyone lives by riding the rollercoasters and other cool rides.
