When you are a busy mum, the last thing you need is to catch a cold or another bug. So, it is very important that you have the clothes you need to be able to stay warm and dry. There are some winter clothing and wardrobe essentials no busy mum should be without.

A great pair of jeans

Top of the list has to be a fantastic pair of jeans. They are versatile and look good regardless of how often you wear them.

Finding a pair that fits in with your look and sense of style is really easy. Retailers like Fashion World sell every cut you can think of. They stock everything from comfy boyfriend jeans to skinny jeans in sizes 10 to 34. So, very few women will not be able to find something suitable when they shop with that type of retailer.

Leggings or tights

If you feel the cold a lot consider buying some leggings or jeggings too. I suggest this because, on very cold days, they can easily be worn under your jeans. It is surprising how much warmer you will feel. If this does not appeal, consider buying a pair of thick tights instead. They work equally as well. Plus, on warmer days you can pair them with long boots and a winter dress.

Comfy boots

For winter school runs boots are by far the best option. This year, there are plenty to choose from. Most of which are practical as well as stylish. Tall fashion boots, ankle boots and cowboy boots, all fit the bill and are very much in vogue this season. If you plan to buy a pair of ankle boots, you will find that this buying guide will prove helpful.

When choosing your boots, make sure that they are waterproof and that the soles are reasonably thick. That way your feet will not get too cold when you are standing outside the school gates. If you really want to wear thin-soled boots consider buying a pair that a half size bigger than you normally wear. This will enable you to wear an extra pair of thick socks on very cold days.

A stylish coat

A warm coat is also essential. This year, buying one that is suitable will not prove difficult. Old-school all-wool fashion coats are very much back in style. Wool keeps you warm and is a particularly good option on a wet day. This natural fabric can absorb about half of its weight in water without you actually feeling wet. This is because the water is trapped between the fibres.

If wool does not appeal to you, take a look at the puffer coats that have become more widely available, this year. They are exceptionally warm.

Dressing in layers definitely keeps you warmer. So, when shopping for winter tops, it makes sense to bear this in mind.
