Top things to do in Japan to get the most out of your trip
The land of the rising sun is a popular destination for tourists from all over the world, and for good reason. From bustling cities to tranquil temples, and majestic Mount Fuji to delicious cuisine, Japan offers something for everyone. But with so much to see and do, it can be overwhelming trying to plan your perfect trip. That’s why we’ve put together this guide on 6 things you must do in Japan to make the most out of your experience truly.
So get ready to immerse yourself in Japanese culture and discover hidden gems that will leave you with unforgettable memories. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned visitor, our tips will help elevate your trip and ensure that you have an unforgettable adventure in this amazing country.

Visiting museums in Japan
One of the best ways to learn about a country’s history and culture is by visiting its museums. Japan has a rich and fascinating history that spans thousands of years, and numerous museums across the country offer a glimpse into this unique culture. Buying your tickets in advance can bring you great benefits. Whether you are looking for tickets for the Studio Ghibli Museum in Tokyo or any other museum, be sure that the adventure will be amazing. Museums in Japan often have an extensive collection of art and artifacts, memorials, paintings, sculptures, calligraphy, and many other attractions.
Embrace the culture by trying traditional cuisine
Travelling to Japan provides an unforgettable experience beyond just visiting the country’s iconic landmarks. One way to fully appreciate the culture is through experiencing its traditional cuisine and customs. The diverse range of Japanese dishes is incredibly unique and delicious with a strong emphasis on seasonal ingredients. Sushi, ramen, tempura, and udon are popular classics that are enjoyed globally.
However, many other local dishes are lesser-known but equally mouth-watering. Embrace the food culture by trying out new dishes, from street food to fine dining. Aside from food, Japan also has distinctive customs that are worth getting involved in. Participating in cultural practices, such as visiting shrines and temples, attending tea ceremonies, or wearing a kimono, will give you a deeper understanding of Japan’s rich cultural heritage. There’s no better way of fully immersing oneself in Japan’s rich cultural heritage than by indulging in all it has to offer.
Visit a traditional Japanese garden
Amid the hustle and bustle of the city, it is easy to forget the importance of finding tranquillity and peace in our daily lives. This is where visiting a traditional Japanese garden comes in. These serene and beautiful gardens offer a rare opportunity to escape the chaos of everyday life and immerse oneself in nature.
From pristine ponds filled with colourful koi fish to carefully manicured shrubs and trees, these gardens offer a glimpse into a world of peaceful contemplation. Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to reflect, a place to unwind with a good book, or simply a break from the city’s noise, a traditional Japanese garden is the perfect place to visit.
Take a trip to a lesser-known city or town
There’s so much more to Japan than just the bustling city of Tokyo. If you’re looking for a more authentic Japanese experience, consider taking a trip to one of the country’s lesser-known cities or towns. With its charming streets lined with traditional wooden houses and quaint shops, Kanazawa is the perfect destination for travellers who want to get off the beaten path.
Take a stroll through the town’s famous Kenroku-en Garden, one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan, or explore the historical Nagamachi Samurai district. And don’t forget to indulge in Kanazawa’s famous seafood cuisine while you’re there! By venturing to a lesser-known destination like Kanazawa, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for Japan’s rich culture and unique way of life.
Attend a cultural event such as a tea ceremony
Immerse yourself in the colourful and fascinating world of Japanese culture by attending an event such as a tea ceremony, traditional festival, or sumo wrestling match. Japanese ceremonies are an exquisite display of professionalism, grace, and discipline, which are held in high regard by the Japanese. Such a traditional display of Japanese culture and history can be enjoyed at festivals throughout Japan, where locals and tourists mingle and come together to witness the magic of the culture.
Furthermore, a sumo wrestling match is an exciting and unforgettable experience that shows the strength and determination of the wrestlers as they grapple for glory. Attending a cultural event in Japan should be on your to-do list if you want to experience the beauty and depth of Japanese traditional culture.

In conclusion, Japan truly offers something for everyone. From mouthwatering sushi and bullet trains to serene gardens and bustling cities, this country is a unique blend of ancient traditions and modern innovations. So don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and fully embrace the Japanese culture during your travels. Indulge in traditional dishes, participate in local customs, and explore lesser-known towns to get a glimpse of the authentic side of Japan.
Make sure to also add cultural events and fashion hotspots to your itinerary for a well-rounded experience. And remember, planning your trip around seasonal activities can add an extra layer of magic to your journey. So pack your bags, open your mind and heart, and get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in Japan!

![[AD] The sun has finally made an appearance and the boys have been making the most of it by spending it
in the garden.
They’re go-to is always football and they’ve been trying to improve their aim and accuracy with the new Messi Foldable Footlball goal from the #MessiTrainingSystem range.
I love the fact the goal is foldable, making it easy to store away when not in use. It is also lightweight so you can effortlessly pack it up and take it to the park or to a friend’s house.
The Messi Foldable Football Goal retails at £36 and can be purchased from @argos
