Aiming for more family time this Christmas

We can no longer ignore the fact that Christmas is fast upon us. There are Winter assemblies, fayres and what feels like a million parties to attend. Add hosting Christmas to this list, and it means that I really have to get a move on and organise myself.

It can be a pretty stressful time for us parents, after all, we want to get everything just right. It’s all too easy to concentrate on the preparation, the tidying and the cleaning in the run-up to the big day that you forget to actually enjoy those important memory making moments with your family that matter.

I wasn’t surprised to find out that a survey of British families commissioned by Regina Blitz Kitchen Roll showed that 63% of UK residents admit they miss out on family time during the festive season because they begin to tidy the house at least a week before the big day.

The survey also revealed that the top 5 stresses we face in the run-up to the festive season to be:

  • Getting all the present shopping completed
  • Getting the house ready and keeping it tidy
  • Pressure from the in-laws to be perfect
  • Worrying about the amount of food for guest
  • Cooking Christmas dinner

Having felt every one of these stresses at some point over the years during the run-up to Christmas, I can completely agree with the survey results. We want to create the idyllic Christmas setting for our loved ones to enjoy and that means getting the house in tip-top shape.

We will be hosting Christmas again this year and will be having my mum, sister and my in-laws over. There’s plenty of things to organise. I pre-booked our turkey this week and am halfway through gift buying. The boys and I usually kick things off with a Christmas mini-feast where we devour mince pies, panettone and chocolate coins – all washed down with a cup of hot chocolate. We also bake and put together a gingerbread house decorated with sweet treats and a chocolate train.

It’s messy fun, but it also means spending good quality family time together too. I’ll be using Regina Blitz the all-purpose household and kitchen roll to help ease the stress of cleaning. With triple layers, it’s super strong and absorbent – perfect for cleaning up dirty work surfaces and mopping up any spills. Regina Blitz is also 70% bigger than standard kitchen roll so you can use fewer sheets.

Cleaning up Christmas mess with Regina Blitz Kitchen Roll

I’m hoping to concentrate more on spending time with my family this festive season and will be looking at reducing the amount of time spent tidying up and cleaning. I plan to delegate more and get the boys involved the big tidy up too up. The mess will be inevitable, but with Regina Blitz on hand along with my two little helpers, I am confident it will be more stress-free than previous years!

Regina Blitz is available to buy from all leading supermarkets as well as independent retailers from £2.50. Why not pick some up on your next grocery shop so that Regina can help you ease the stress of the Christmas mess too?
