When Mr H and I first moved into our house, we spent all of our evenings and weekends decorating and I dread to think the number of hours we notched up doing DIY. Since we’ve had children though there just never seems like there is time to get all those odd jobs done. Weekends are pretty sacred, like most working parents – it’s the only block of time we get to spend quality time together as a family. There are no work or school distractions and whilst it’s great, it also means that the number odd jobs that need doing are piling up.

I’ll give you some examples:

The boy’s bedroom

They went into bunk beds around Easter time and we spent ages picking the right colour for their room and even cleared out some old furniture. Have we done anything since though? Nope. The paint samples are *still* on their wall and we have yet to go and buy the actual paint.
