Many of us enjoy playing online games. It’s a great way to have fun, kill time and even make new friends. There are lots of different types of online games — strategy, role-playing, shooter, survival and more — with new ones popping up all the time. In fact, there are so many great online games available that it can be hard to choose which one to play next. Online gaming is a big part of many people’s lives in this digital age we live in. Whether you prefer something strategic like chess or something more fast-paced like virtual reality games, there’s something for everyone out there.

Why play online games?

Some people like to play online games as a hobby, others enjoy playing them for relaxation as a way to unwind after a stressful day at work and others choose to play them as a form of escapism. I am one of those people that enjoy puzzle and word games (especially Wordle!) I like to think it keeps my brain ticking over – not to mention I enjoy doing a daily challenge! At the end of my work day, I’ve also been heading over to plays.org to play some of their games. They have thousands of different types of online games including character-themed games which are great for kids, racing, puzzle, logic and quiz type games.

I particularly enjoy Charge It where you have to work out how to plug in chargers without moving the phones.

I’ve also been playing Bridge Hopper – another logic-based game where you have a number of steps to get the bunny across the bridges that open and close to collect the carrots.

My boys have seen me playing these games and have also taken an interest in playing them. My youngest has enjoyed playing Car Rush, a racing game where you have to beat the clock to finish a lap before you can proceed to the next level.

Online gaming is a great way to have fun, socialise and improve your cognitive function. Whether you enjoy something more strategic or prefer something more fast-paced, there are plenty of games out there to choose from. If you’re someone who enjoys online gaming, there are many ways to make the most out of playing online games.
