Review: Little Dish Pots and Pies
We have been fans of Little Dish ever since my oldest was small. He loved eating them and knowing they use good quality ingredients made me feel a lot less guilty about giving him convenience food. When you are a working mum, sometimes the last thing you want to do is come home from work and cook something in the short time you have with your babies in the evening, so Little Dish meals were a great alternative for me.
Little Dish have just launched their new Pots and Pies range which have been especially created for toddlers and whilst my oldest is now 6, he has a little brother who is 3 and perfect for testing out the new products.
The Little Dish Pots and Pies are made using 100% natural ingredients and come in a variety of dishes that include:
- Chicken & Veg Risotto
- Veg Ravioli
- Mild Chicken Curry
- Spaghetti & Meatballs
- Beef Lasagne
- Mild Beef Chilli
- Pasta Bolognese
- Cottage Pie
- Chicken Pie
- Fish Pie
- Shepherd’s Pie
We were sent some samples to try out and on first impressions, we loved the look of them. The Pots and Pies are bright, colourful, kiddy-friendly, and the cardboard sleeves have different illustrations on them, making them instantly appealing to children. Although the dishes are primarily aimed at toddlers E wanted to get in on the testing action, too so they both tried a couple of dishes each.
M had the Chicken and Veg Risotto, and E tried the Mild Chicken Curry. The dishes are good-sized portions and both of them happily ate every single mouthful. They also tried the Cottage Pie, which again went down really well.
Overall, we found the dishes to be healthy and really tasty. I really like the fact that by giving these to them on busy days when I don’t have time to cook that I don’t need to worry about getting all the right nutrients into them. Each Little Dish meal also contains at least one portion of a child’s recommended five-a-day, and are low in salt with no added sugar, additives or preservatives and contains a source of protein and only ever contains British meat and/or sustainably sourced fish.
They have a long shelf life making them easy to stock up on a few in the fridge and are easy to warm up – you simply pop them in the microwave or oven.
We will definitely be buying these in the future! Little Dish Pots and Pies are priced at £2.30 per dish will be stocked in Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Ocado, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Co-Op and Booths.

Those do look pretty tasty, and a great idea for busy parents who don’t always have time to cook a fresh meal every evening. x #KCACOLS
I like to try to cook ahead and have meals in the freezer ready to heat up for my toddler, but occasionally (by which I really mean often!), I run out, and I’ve found Little Dish meals to be really handy to have on standby. I’ve never seen the little pots before though, so will look out for them! #KCACOLS
Oh wow these look great! So handy for when you are in a rish and want something quick but to know that they are made from good ingredients! Thanks so much for linking with #KCACOLS. We hope you come bck again next week 🙂
These do look very tasty. Yummy and they look a perfect size too for little ones.
I really like Little Dish meals. My daughter loved their fish pie. It was good to have simething ready for those inevitable days that you get home late and have to rush to food prepared.
I’ve not heard of these, but I do have to agree they are handy to have in on busy days and you just do not have time to cook. My children haven’t been keen on the ones we’ve tried to date so I need to give these a whirl.
We have always loved Little Dish, ini m loved their food when we were weaning. They’re great
