Stepping into Spring with JD Williams

I don’t remember the last time I bought an outfit for myself. I live in tops, jeans and leggings these days (all of which are black). So when JD Williams got in touch and asked me to choose some items from their new range it could not have come at a better time. We are off to a wedding at the end of May, where naturally, I need a new outfit so this was the perfect opportunity to find something suitable.

Dress

I started by browsing the dresses section and came across this beautiful animal print dress. I love animal print patterns so this instantly caught my eye. With most dresses, I am always conscious of having my arms on show, so I was pleased that it came with a shrug too.

I really like the cut of this dress, I worried that due to the nature of the material (it’s like a stretchy polyester) that it would cling to all the wrong places and show up my lumps and bumps but the dress skims past them and thankfully keeps them well hidden!

Shoes

Next, I needed a pair of shoes to complete the outfit. I don’t get the chance to wear heels very often but a wedding is a great excuse to dress up right? As much as I would have loved to have chosen some higher heels I knew I needed to be sensible too. I will be on my feet the majority of the time and the last thing I want is to be walking around with sore achy feet. In the end, I decided to go with these Kitten Heel slingbacks which I think compliments the dress perfectly and give me a little height (always needed when you have a husband that’s over 6ft and are only 5ft 3″ yourself!

My feet are quite wide so I really love the fact that JD Williams offer different width fittings for their shoes. The slingbacks are super comfy to wear and I didn’t need to break into them either.

Blouse

Lastly, I chose a blouse for everyday wear. (in actual fact Mr H picked it out) It’s not something I would usually go for but I have to say I love teaming it up with a pair of black jeans and boots. I love the fact that it’s floaty and hides my tummy area.

Overall, I am impressed with all the items from JD Williams – especially the dress and shoes. I can’t wait to wear them for the wedding and just need some accessories to go with my outfit!

*I was sent these items from JD Williams in return for this review.
