Mixing up the magic with Petit Filous #MagicSquaresPlaydates
Recently, we were luckily enough to be sent Petit Filous’ new Magic Squares to try out as they wanted to find out how we Mix Up the Magic on playdates.
My boys aged almost 5 and 2 love having playdates over. They get to enjoy playing with their friends and I get to have a good natter with their friend’s mums. A win-win for all!
Since E started school last September the talk of “who’s coming round my house to play” has been constant! He loves being able to show his school friends all his toys and more often than not, if they have siblings they join in too so M isn’t left out. I only get to do the school run twice a week due to work, so having play dates or being invited to them is also a great way for me to meet and get to know the school mums.
Some ways we have “Mixed Up the Magic” on playdates are as follows:
Organise an activity
I usually like to get the kiddies involved in helping make their tea. Making pizzas has been a great hit. I use pitta breads as bases and lay out all the different bowls of fillings so they can all help themselves in making their own. Other activities have included cupcake decorating where, if I’m short on time I buy ready made fairy cakes. I then melt some chocolate so they can top their cakes before they can go crazy on decorating with sprinkles and sweets.
Picnic Tea
If the weather is on our side and we have a larger group over, I like to place a picnic blanket out in the garden and prepare a picnic tea of sandwiches and treats so the kiddies can help themselves.
Games
E also loves playing garden games and one of his favourites is counting how many times he can bounce on his bottom and stand up again – the kiddies seem to really enjoy this. Others include racing each other in the garden or making an obstacle course (indoors our outdoors) that they have to complete.
Petit Filous Magic Squares
E always refers to Petit Filous as “strong bones yoghurt” (proof that their advertising is doing a great job but also proof that *maybe* he watches too much TV!) so when I told him we had some new yogurts to try and he saw they were the “strong bones” ones he was very excited.
As soon as he saw they the square shapes he was very curious to find out how this was possible (a question for Petit Filous I think!). I expected him to eat each square separately but both he and M dived straight in.
The new yoghurts have been a hit with the boys – they were demolished in seconds and M was asking for more. I especially love the brightly coloured chequered pattern on the pots – they really stood out against the other yoghurts in the supermarket. Petit Filous Magic Squares are available in two flavours: Strawberry & Vanilla and Raspberry & Vanilla and contains both calcium and Vitamin D which help build strong bones. (of course!)
