Men’s Winter wishlist for comfort and style

I wrote a post a while back about my winter wishlist essentials. I need to update my wardrobe this winter to help me keep warm while working from home and getting out and about with the boys.

It’s only fair that I include Mr H in the discussion as he, too, will be with us when we go out on our winter adventures. We do let the cold weather keep us in, and getting out as a family is one of our favourite things. It’s about time Mr H got some updates to his wardrobe, too, now that winter seems to be well and truly here in the UK. I don’t know about you, but it seems to have skipped summer and autumn and dropped us right into winter from a rather extended spring, don’t you think?

With this in mind, what should we look for when it comes to men’s winter essentials? With Mr H working from home a lot, it means a lot of comfortable clothing mixed in with smart attire for when he needs to meet clients and hold meetings at work. So, think about layers that can be added, such as wool and cotton, especially as they can help trap heat and keep you warm when the temperature drops. You need to consider your activities and environment to get the mix right for added warmth and comfort. Plus, you also need waterproof items to sustain a wet winter and, more than anything, comfort.

Tracksuits

Tracksuits and joggers are wardrobe essentials, in my opinion. When it comes to comfort, you want something that’s not constricting and allows you to unwind, and tracksuits and joggers fit the bill perfectly. They’re the go-to choice for a relaxed and comfortable day.

Luckily, there are many different styles of men’s tracksuits to choose from, and adidas has some great choices for Mr H, I think.

Wool Jumpers

Wool jumpers are a versatile must-have for everyone in winter, wouldn’t you agree? They can be dressed up for a smart look or down for a casual vibe. You can build your entire outfit around your jumpers, seamlessly transitioning from office to casual or evening wear. As mentioned earlier, wool is excellent for trapping heat, so if Mr H has a wool jumper to throw on during our work-from-home days, we can delay turning up the heating. Joe Browns and Cotton Traders have some fantastic options to choose from.

Boots

You need a good pair of boots to keep your feet warm in the winter, right? And if you need to go out and switch your comfy slippers or something more suitable for the British winter, then a good pair of men’s boots is a must. Waterproof, comfortable and durable is the name of the game when buying boots, and MR H is overdue for an upgrade, I think. We’ll be looking at some stylish mens walking boots that can be worn for both work and leisure when needed, and I’ve seen some great styles at adidas, Schuh and Regatta that look like they’ll fit the bill.

Trainers

If you’re investing in winter tracksuits, then you need to consider adding a pair of men’s running trainers to your wardrobe, don’t you think? Even if you’re not a frequent runner, running trainers can be both stylish and comfortable, making them a great addition for those who prefer a more casual look. Plus, many trainers these days are designed to look smart, making them a perfect choice for a smart casual outfit.

Mens Winter Accessories

It wouldn’t be a wishlist if you’re not updating our winter accessories. Think gloves, scarves, hats and even umbrellas. If you’re facing the winter weather, especially those extra breezy days or times when the weather is swinging from sunny to atrocious and back in the space of an hour, you need the kit to help you dress for all seasons in 24 hours. Oh, and let’s not forget some thick winter socks, too. We all need some warm socks to keep our feet warm, but now it’s getting really chilly!

I think Mr H might need to check out what he has, or he can make sure his winter accessories keep him warm this winter.

What would be on your winter wish list for the men and boys in your home? If I’m being honest, both boys in my home aren’t far from being in men’s fits, especially E; he is so tall now!
