UK’s first ever Pop-up Pokemon Center + win a limited edition London City Pikachu plush
*We were invited to a special preview of the Pokemon Center London but were not asked to write about it.
We just wanted to share our experience with you.
The UK’s first-ever pop-up Pokemon Center opened last Friday and we were lucky enough to be invited to a very special preview to have first-look at all the Pokemon goodies you can shake a stick at. I also have a very special giveaway at the end of this post, so read on.
My boys are HUGE Pokemon fans – they pretty much spent most of the last year watching the entire Pokemon series back-to-back. When the invitation landed in my inbox I didn’t need to think twice about accepting it.
The pop-up Pokemon Center London celebrates the launch of the Pokemon Sword and Shield games which is being released on the Nintendo Switch on 15 November 2019. The store opened on 15th October and will be open for a month until 15 November 2019.
We arrived at Westfield London the day before the center’s official opening and the boys were beyond excited about getting first-look at all the Pokemon merchandise. They decided to head straight upstairs to have a play on the new Pokemon Sword and Shield game. Banks of Nintendo Switch consoles were available which were timed in order to ensure everyone got to get a taste of the new game. E noted that it was very similar to Pokemon GO so I think it may well be on top of his Christmas list.
After the demo, it was time to head downstairs to check out all the Pokemon merchandise. We saw a giant Pikachu plush that had already been sold. I managed to snap a photo of the boys with it before it was taken to its new home.
The boy and I were then fully immersed in Pokemon heaven, everywhere we looked there was Pokemon merchandise. I loved seeing the limited edition London themed items, there were mugs, umbrellas and hoodies and so much more.
There were also plushes of all types of Pokemon. M was torn between buying a Ditto plush or Pokemon cards (Pokemon cards won in the end) whereas E was all about the Pokemon cards as there was so much choice. He took a while to decide which ones he wanted and I just had to buy a Pikachu mug for myself.
If you want to see more of our special preview, please check out the video we made below.
The Pokemon Center London is now open and located in Westfield London until Friday 15 November 2019. The store has been super popular with queues going outside Westfield. There have been reports of fans queuing for over well over 4 hours. Should you decide to visit with kids please bear this in mind and go prepared.
Thank you so much to Pokemon for inviting us to the special preview – you made two Pokemon mad boys insanely happy!

Hi! Amazing post, thank you for sharing, your boys are so cute! Bless them, we are flying to london in two weeks and wondering if this store still exists, I have a 7 years old boy and I’m even more excited to visit Pokémon center
You’re so welcome – they absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, the Pokemon Pop-up store was only temporary so it’s not there anymore. I do hope you have a lovely time in London and still manage to find some good Pokemon goodies over here!
