A guest post from One Frazzled Mum
My name is Tracey, and I have been writing over at One Frazzled Mum for over three years now. Maria has kindly let me provide a guest post for her while she is on holiday so I thought I would take this chance to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about myself and my blog.
For those that know me, they will tell you that One Frazzled Mum is a moniker that pretty much fits me like a glove. Always tired, always forgetting something and always, always in a mad crazy rush due to terrible timekeeping. Being a single parent seems to tip that balance from scatty to full frazzled in the blink of an eye. Juggling a million things a minute, I’m too focused on not dropping anything to pay attention to what’s going on around me.
Aside from blogging, I also work part-time in retail and attempt to bring up my daughter Olivia, with the help of her dad and both of our families. It’s not always easy, but it is always full on. Right now, we are firmly entrenched in the tween territory so it can get more than a bit hairy at times. Some days I can physically feel the frown lines and wrinkles etching their way through my face as the grey hair pops through to my fringe.
But anyway enough about me, how I about I tell you a little bit about my blog.
I’ve been doing this a while now but never really had any direction if you know what I mean. I wrote my first ever blog post on the WordPress App on my Blackberry while sat at the top of the stairs – totally professional. These days, I mostly write from my laptop (sometimes still at the top of the stairs). But these days that spot is mainly reserved for mammoth Disney Emoji Blitz sessions.
Over on my blog, you can mostly find me in my own little worlds that I create as I publish my own pieces of fiction. I absolutely love to write.
Around 18 months I wrote a short story: There’s Something I Need to Tell You about two friends. One, of course, had something that needed to be said and the other needed to hear. At the point of writing, I literally had no idea what it was or where we were going with it. A few weeks later, I wrote another part, and so my first ever blog fiction series was born. Eventually, the secret was discovered, and an ending appeared after five instalments that made me sob like a baby. I’m pretty sure watching Armageddon didn’t help matters either!
A few short pieces later, came Be Careful What You Wish For. With this one, the title was bugging me for weeks until the perfect storyline came up and developed into a three-parter. Slightly different and slightly supernatural, I was finding a love for cliffhangers and leaving things open to the reader’s imagination.
This came in really handy for my newly finished series, The Secrets of Salt Lake. Oh, man, have I loved writing this! An 11-week labour of love that has finally given me the push to write an actual book. These characters and their story have really gripped me, and I’m not quite ready to let them go – just yet anyway.
What Else Can You Find on One Frazzled Mum?
As I work on developing my writing skills, the blog will pretty soon be dedicated to creative writing. From dabbling in stories or poetry, or about how I am finding writing in general. I feel this is more me, more authentic and definitely where I feel most comfortable right now.
You’ll still be able to read reviews and other posts as they pop up too, but if you are looking for a slightly different blog post to read. Something to grasp your imagination and run away with you, then I can most definitely help on this front!
That’s it from me for now, but if you enjoyed this post and are curious as to how good I actually am (a solid C – as my English Teacher would probably say) I would love to see you over on the blog soon!

Thanks for featuring me and letting me guest post for you x
This was a really interesting read. I only ever really read parenting blogs or blogs about food, so it was nice to have my eyes open to different types of creative accounts that are out there.
It’s amazing that something that started as a hobby, has ended up with you being passionate enough to start writing a book. That is amazing. Toys daughter must be so proud of you.
I am going to go and read some of your work, it sounds really interesting. The titles are really good, captivating but done give too much away.
Just wanted to wish you huge success with your book.
Thanks for sharing.
