Gift ideas for Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is a little earlier this year and falls on Sunday 14 March. My mums 60th also falls on the same weekend so I’m under even more pressure than usual! Although we can’t see our mums in person this year, we can still send gifts to let them know how loved they are. If you’re looking for some inspiration for gifts – take a look at my gift guide below for some ideas.
For some “me time”
After the year we’ve had, I think all mums could do with some “me time” to hide away and focus on themselves. Gruum has a limited edition clay face mask trio, ideal for indulging in some self-care. Each pot addresses different skin concerns and will tone and exfoliate, draw out impurities and replenish and soothe the skin.
Lavera Skincare have a MY AGE Skincare range that is 100% natural and organic. Formulated with active ingredients such as hibiscus and ceramides is ideal for mature skin.
Arran of Scotland is a family run business that creates amazing scents inspired by the Isle of Arran’s breathtaking scenery. They have a range of gifts that include candles, fragrances and skincare. There will be something ideal for your mum. The Discovery Sets would be perfect for travel and include a miniature Bath & Shower gel, Shampoo and body lotion and soap.
Our hair probably hasn’t had the care and attention it deserves this year, due to lockdown. ALTERNA Caviar hair products are luxurious and have a range of hair care products that repair, replenish moisture in your hair. ALTERNA are also chemical and cruelty-free.
Take some time out to have a cuppa, read your book and light a St. Eval Bay and Rosemary candle. Inspired by flowers and herbs from an English country garden, it will add a refreshing fragrance to the home.
A personal touch
Many of us will have missed being able to travel this year. El Camino Bracelets would make a wonderful keepsake, reminding you of all the places you have been to with an individual charm for each country you’ve visited. Each bracelet will be a unique travel story – you could even gift one for future adventures you promise to travel to with your mum! Perhaps you could even try custom diamond jewelry that can add a unique and personalized touch when gifting your dear mothers something close to the heart. Each bespoke piece can reflect an individual’s design aesthetic and carry a sentimental value that holds memories of a lifetime. Consider adding a personal touch to your Mother’s Day gift by exploring customisable multi-name necklaces, such as those available at Jewlr, where you can create a unique piece that holds sentimental value for your loved one.
Toff London specialise in personalised watches with a variety of themes and designs, ranging from pets to flowers, they even have a Pride collection so you can be sure to find something suitable for your mum. They offer an engravement service to make the gift of a watch extra special.
Say it with Food
If your mum has a sweet tooth, then chocolates are always going to down well. How about something a little different to the norm? Sweet Trees by Browns offer beautiful handmade chocolate trees and even a Smash Cake which can be personalised with your own unique message. The Smash Cake (pictured) has a Belgian chocolate shell, the inside is filled with Maltesers, Cadbury buttons and Smarties. One for the whole family to indulge in and celebrate Mother’s Day with.
The Mother’ Day Tea Party Gift Box from Bird and Blend Teas has everything for mum to enjoy a lovely Mother’s Day Tea. The box is beautifully packaged and contains 3 vegan cakes and a selection of Bird and Blend teas.
If your mum is not one for sharing chocolate, how about a gift box that she can hideaway and have all by herself? Green & Blacks have a lovely gift set that comes beautifully boxed and has a special “Love You Mum” gift sleeve. This set contains a selection of Green & Black chocolate that includes: white and milk chocolate bars and a selection of mini bars.

Say it with vouchers
Have a mum that loves to shop but they are hard to buy for? VEX Gift Cards would make a thoughtful gift. The VEX Gift Card can be used like cash to order gift vouchers and cards across a wide range of high street stores including M&S, John Lewis, Argos many more. Your recipient can pick and choose where they want to shop and redeem the vouchers either online or instore.
I miss being able to have Afternoon Tea at a lovely hotel where you can relax, sit back and enjoy the day. Although we can’t go and do that, we can do the next best thing and order Afternoon Tea for four at home with Piglet’s Pantry from Buyagift.
The traditional Afternoon Tea includes cheese and chive quiches, scotch eggs, mini sausage rolls, scones with clotted cream and jam and a selection of cakes and Earl Grey teabags.
Games
I think we’ve all have new found love of games during the pandemic, but this one is a little different. The Escape Room in a Box creates a fully immersive escape room that the whole family can enjoy without having to leave the house. Designed for 3-6 players, the box contains everything you need for a guaranteed evening of fun.
For everyday comfort
Hands up who’s lived in loungewear while we’ve spent all this time at home? While it may not be your first choice as a gift, everyone needs a pair of Love Leggings. They are super comfy and none see-through too, your mum will be thanking you for these.
