Bigjigs Play Patrol – Fire Station Train Set

We are super excited to be chosen to be part of the Big Jigs Play Patrol this year. As you may already know my boys are huge train fans so we are absolutely thrilled to be putting a selection of Big Jigs Rail products through its paces throughout the year and will be letting you all know how we got on with them.

Bigjigs Play Patrol

Bigjigs products are designed in the UK and made from high-quality responsibly sourced materials. We’re actually no strangers to this brand and already own a few products from their range.

The lovely Big Jigs people sent us a Fire Station Train Set which my boys were delighted about.

Bigjigs Fire & Rescue Train Set

The Firestation set comes with 39 pieces. Below are some of the items that are included:

  • Fire Station Tunnel
  • Fire Engine
  • Firemen
  • Road signs
  • Train
  • Train track

The set is suitable for children aged 3+ and can be played with as a standalone set or can be combined with other items from the Bigjigs Rail range and other compatible wooden train sets too.

My boys are 4 and 6 and really enjoyed playing with this set. E followed the instructions and put the track together easily by himself.

My youngest is massively into role play at the moment and has loved playing out fire rescue scenes with this set. One of his favourite parts is rescuing the cat from the tree!

My only slight niggle with this set is that the wooden tree doesn’t stay standing by itself once the cat has been added to it as it’s imbalanced. Otherwise, it’s a huge thumbs-up from the boys – they have had hours of fun with it so far and have already added this set to the rest of their collection.

This looks fab. My son had a similar wooden train set when he was younger and it was brilliant, so much more durable than the plastic ones. We passed it on to my nephew and it’s still going strong x

Is the bridge pretty stable on its own? I have a train set from a different company and the bridge isn’t self supported so it falls way too easily under toddler hands. #KCACOLS

This is brilliant my boys would love it too. Have a Brio set but I like how colourful and wooden this is #KCACOLS

  4. Oh Harry would LOVE this, and I am a huge fan of wooden toys so I would too! It looks like your boys really enjoyed playing with it, I will definitely bear this in mind for Harrys birthday next month! #kcacols

  5. Ah wow! My little boy loves a train set. He would go mad for this. He has a wooden pirate ship. I personally love wooden toys. They feel more traditional and better quality. It’s so refreshing to hear the materials are responsibly sourced too.

  6. This all looks super fun! Unfortunately My boys have outgrown those kind of toys. Otherwise I would seriously be tempted to buy one! #KCACOLS

  7. This is a really cool little set and very different to the other standard small train sets you can get. I love the little bridge/house and the tree. #KCACOLS

  8. This looks like a lovely set! Ben has started showing interest in trains which made my heart melt watching him pushing them along!! will keep these in mind for when he turns three! #KCACOLS
