Adding to my jewellery collection

I’m not much of a jewellery person, and even less so as I am getting older. I was never into buying things that were “in fashion” before I had children and that has not changed at all since having them either. I like to find clothes that fit and compliment my figure and the same ethos goes when picking out jewellery pieces. I don’t tend to like anything that is too fussy or loud and seem to veer towards classic items that I think will last. I find that simplicity is the key. When I was younger I was a big fan of Hip Hop Jewelry, chokers, big drop earrings and cocktail rings. Now, I like my jewellery to be understated and not over the top. Other than wearing my wedding and engagement ring, I don’t tend to wear much jewellery. However, I will put on a necklace, a bracelet and a pair of earrings if I am going out though. With that in mind, I want to add to my jewellery collection for special occasions.
I’d love to add a few more styles of rings to my collection. I sometimes find bracelets and necklaces too fiddly to put on so having a choice of rings to mix and match with outfits would be a good option.
Something with my birthstone, (Emerald for May) on would be a lovely addition. I like this eternity ring design. I can see it working well for everyday wear, but it would also complement dressier outfits. I may have to drop some not-so-sublte hints to Mr H for my upcoming birthday in May.
For more formal occasions like dinner and dance, I would love something with a bit of bling, like this Nirvana ring. I would then want to team it up with this glamorous cascade necklace. I think they would look amazing together with floaty ball gown type dress or even a classic black dress and heels.
Lastly, I would like to add some diamond stud earrings to my collection. These can be worn to suit any occasion and would be something that would last a lifetime and can be passed on through the generations. This gemstone guide gives some really interesting insights into diamonds including their history and how they came to become such an iconic symbol of marriage and engagement.
What sort of items do you have in your jewellery collection?

Recently, I’ve been on the hunt for new pieces to add to my jewelry collection as its the perfect way to dress up a casual outfit. That being said, stackable rings are such a fun trend that I am most definitely getting behind.
