Review: Cinderella – The Rockin’ Panto
*We received complimentary tickets for the purpose of this review
Christmas isn’t Christmas without a good old panto so when we were invited down to the artsdepot in Finchley to see Cinderella – The Rockin’ Panto how could we say no?
About Cinderella – The Rockin’ Panto
“It’s not easy being the Mayor, Baron Hardup, with Prince Charming due in town for a Royal visit and a staff of only two – his beautiful, feisty daughter Cinderella and the loyal and loveable Buttons. But when his lonely hearts ad is answered by the mysterious Rubella De Zees who brings along her two dangerous daughters Hernia and Verruca, it seems he’s far more than she bargained for…for in Panto Land anything goes.”
Based on the traditional story but with a twist, Cinderella – The Rockin’ Panto brings you your usual panto fun in the form of slapstick comedy and laugh out loud moments as well as incredible live performances of rock, pop and soul classics from the multi-talented cast.
The show is great for families, my boys (aged 6 and 9) found the slapstick comedy hilarious and there are some jokes thrown in that only adults will understand too. I was also really impressed by the cast – they all took turns playing different instruments as well as singing dancing and acting.
Overall, we were blown away by how entertaining the show was. It had us up on our feet at the end, and it made for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Cinderella – The Rockin’ Panto is just what you need to get into the Christmas spirit.
The show is currently on at the artsdepot until 5 Jan 2020. I’d highly recommend a visit to see the show. You can find out more and book tickets through their website.
Cinderella – The Rockin’ Panto useful information
- Suitable for children aged 5+
- The show lasts around two and a half hours with a short interval in between
- Handy cafe area where you can grab snacks and drinks from that accepts both cash and card. Prices were really reasonable
- I’d recommend buying your popcorn from the cafe rather than from the popcorn machine outside the show as this cost £3 for a teeny tiny bag
