We enjoyed the glorious sunshine this weekend with a trip to Brighton. We went on the @brightoni360official which is right by the sea front.
The i360 pod take a slow journey up, allowing you to take in views across Brighton and the South Downs 450ft above ground. There’s a bar inside with drinks and snacks available to purchase and the experience lasts 25 minutes.
Afterwards, we headed to the open air roller rink for a roller skating session!

in the garden.

![📚 Are you ready for World Book Day? 📚
[AD - Gifted] I don't know about you, but I have never made the boys a costume for #WorldBookDay. I just don't have it in me to be creative that way. Their costumes have always been bought or cobbled together with what we already have, and luckily, the school allow you to wear pyjamas to school, which makes things a lot easier!
M has been living in his @TheRealTomGates pyjamas recently, and I think he might wear these when his World Book Day dress-up day comes around (the school celebrate with Book Week rather than just Book Day)
The boys have been fans of Tom Gates for a while now. M has always loved reading books that make him laugh and contain humour - they tend to keep him engaged in reading.
Did you know that there are now 20 Tom Gates storybooks to get stuck into? Ideal for kids aged 6-12, the series consists of feel-good, hilarious books full of photos and stories about Tom's life at home and school. Best of all, you can read them in any order.

Make learning fun with Education Quizzes
It goes without saying that a good education is paramount for children. I think it’s really important to be able to further support their learning at home too because they may need a little extra help in certain areas. We are really lucky that we live in an area surrounded by great schools and the ones the boys attend have an outstanding Ofsted rating.
E is currently in Year 2 and loves going to school. He enjoys learning new things and is regularly telling me random facts he has learnt. The school are big on reading and encourage them to read at least 10 minutes at home every day. On top of this, he will have homework a couple of times a month which we usually help him with over the weekend.
We have been taking a look at Education Quizzes this week to see if this would make learning at home a little different and more interesting. I have to confess I’m not the most patient of teachers at home so anything that would help make learning at home more fun would be a real benefit.
About Education Quizzes
Education Quizzes aims to do just that. It’s based on the National Curriculum and aims to support learning at home through a variety of fun quizzes that are written by teachers and tailored to curriculum different Key Stages. Once you have clicked onto the correct stage for your child (E is Key Stage 2), the website is then broken down by subject. For example, Art and Design, English, Geography and Maths.
I think E has followed in my footsteps and needs a little helping hand in the Maths department so we logged on to take a look at what was available. The website is really user-friendly and we found the section we were looking for straight away. I really like the idea of answering quiz questions. It instantly seems like less of a chore when you are on the computer and also lets E get used to using a computer rather than using tablets all the time. There are other online resources that are available that can help you prepare for exams too.
How much does it cost?
A subscription to Education Quizzes costs £9.95. There is also a subscription that is available for schools which can work out to be as little as £2 per student for the whole year. The latter would be a great option for those who don’t necessarily have the spare cash each month for their own subscription.
Education Quizzes have some sample test papers available to use as a practice with an option to buy further papers for £2.99 which I think will be really useful for E as he has SATS coming up towards the end of this school year.
Overall, I believe that Education Quizzes is a really useful resource for parents that will enable their children to learn at home the fun way.

This is actually really interesting and not as expensive as I thought Ithat would be #kcacol
We have a similar thing here for maths but I’m not 100% on board with everything being done on the computer…I think a little pen and paper work is good for them #KCACOLS
My daughter’s school subscribe to a few educational sites that she can then use at home. I find it a good compromise when she wants to go onto my computer – it’s ok for a while if she’s learning something rather than watch someone opening kinder eggs for hours on end! #KCACOLS
I do miss using educational computer games and quizzes for the kids. Over here in Paris it’s very old fashioned, lots of rote learning, memorising poems, conjugating verbs and spelling. And homework every day! #kcalcols
My son likes us to come up with sums for him to do so this would be good for that, not sure I’d pay for a subscription though as I don’t think we’d get enough use out of it to justify the cost. Maybe in the future though x

Great idea Maria. The kids always seem to respond well to these online quizzes rather than a sheet of paper with 20 questions on!! Our daughters school have several packages that the children can use for getting their work done and practice #KCACOLS

sounds good for older children who are nearing a SAT year…but i do feel sad that our education system needs things like this to help…id much rather see all years doing more ‘hands on’ and ‘fun’ learning based on real life scenarios x #kcacols

All the help my boys can get is good as far as I’m concerned. I like a range of different ways for them to learn and technology is so in touch with children now that its good to have these resources at hand.

I’m so out of touch with the education system in the UK. Homework a couple of times a month sounds okay – in Mexico kids from age 4 are usually getting homework twice a week! It’s too much. Anyway, it sounds like this resource could be a useful tool. Learning should always be fun! #KCACOLS
