6 things a child needs in order to excel in school
Most parents want their children to excel in school. This is why parents must give their children the tools they need to succeed. This post discusses six things every child needs to excel in school.

Appropriate tutors
Children struggling with a particular subject may need extra help understanding the material. A tutor can provide personalised instruction and guidance to help children gain confidence in their abilities. Personalised instruction means the tutor can tailor their approach to suit your child’s individual needs. Tutors can also help children identify and address any learning gaps. For instance, if your child is struggling with math, a tutor can help them catch up on missed concepts and practice problem-solving techniques. With the right tutor, children can learn how to study and become successful learners.
However, you need to choose a tutor carefully. Some factors you want to consider include the tutor’s qualifications, experience, and teaching style. The cost is also essential, especially if you seek long-term help. There are instances wherein the price you have to pay depends on where you live. For example, if you live in the city, the cost of a tutor can be higher due to the demand for their services. Regarding Redbridge Tuition specifically for tutoring, you can be sure that you’re getting top-quality tutors and the best value for money, but expect to shell out a bit more than other providers. You will also need to factor in additional costs, such as travel expenses and materials, especially if you go for one-on-one sessions.
Educational apps and technology
Thanks to the development of technology, educational apps have become an excellent way for children to learn at their own pace. There are apps for almost any subject matter or age group that can help with reading comprehension, math, science, and even coding. Technology can make learning more engaging and enjoyable, leading to better understanding concepts. The apps and technology your child needs to use depend on their age group and specific learning needs. For instance, younger children may benefit from interactive games and activities apps. On the other hand, older children may need an app or program to help them with complex topics.
In addition to educational apps, children may also benefit from access to tablets or computers with internet access. This will allow them to research topics they’re studying in class or explore topics that interest them. It’s essential to monitor the type of content your child consumes online to ensure they are not exposed to inappropriate material. This means that you have to take an active role in monitoring their online activities. Fortunately, you can use parental control tools to set limits and block certain websites. You can also install antivirus software to protect your computer from malicious attacks.
A supportive learning environment
Your child’s learning environment is one of the most critical factors in their success in school. A supportive learning environment allows children to feel safe and secure, so they can focus on their studies. This means creating a quiet study space that is free of distractions and setting a schedule that your child can stick to. You should also encourage them to take breaks and get enough sleep so they don’t feel overwhelmed or burned out.
In addition, you should create an atmosphere of learning at home in which children are praised for the effort they put into their studies rather than the grades they receive. This will help them view learning as an enjoyable activity and not as something forced upon them.
Finally, you should provide your child with resources and materials to help them with schoolwork. This includes textbooks, educational apps, study guides, and reference materials such as dictionaries or encyclopedias. Parents should also be available for school-related questions and support when children have difficulty with a specific topic, although this doesn’t always come easy for parents! If you look at the recent data study comparing new math vs old math, you’ll see that things have changed a lot since you were in school, so you may need to do a little research yourself to help them with their homework. You could also ask your child’s school for some recommendations for resources that could help you help your child.
Organisational skills
Children need to learn how to organise their homework, projects, and study materials to efficiently manage their time and keep track of the tasks they need to complete. Teaching your child organisational skills will help them stay on top of their work, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve their academic performance. Organisational skills include prioritising tasks, breaking large projects into smaller parts, setting deadlines for assignments, and using planners and other tools to keep track of their work. You can also help your child develop organisational skills by teaching them how to create and use filing systems for their assignments, plan their day, and set aside regular study periods.
Adequate rest and nutrition
Children need to get enough sleep and eat nutritious meals to stay alert and focused during school. Proper rest ensures your child has the necessary energy to last throughout the day without getting tired quickly. Eating healthy food also helps children stay alert and focused, as a balanced diet provides the essential nutrients for cognitive development. For instance, offer your child fruits and vegetables to snack on instead of sugary snacks throughout the day. You should also encourage your child to stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking plenty of water. When your child has adequate rest and nutrition, they can perform better in school and reach their full potential.
A positive attitude and confidence
Confidence is key to school success. Believing that one can learn and understand the material is a positive way of thinking. Keeping an open mind and being curious about the subject will help children stay engaged with learning. It’s also essential to cultivate a growth mindset, believing one can improve over time and not be limited by their current abilities. Encouraging your child to stay positive and seek help when needed will also help them develop confidence in their learning. But you must set an example for your child by having a positive attitude and offering encouragement. This will help them stay motivated and focused on their goals.

Providing the right tools and support is essential for children to excel in school. As a parent, providing your child with the resources, support, and guidance they need to become successful learners is crucial. With a bit of help from you, your child can achieve their academic goals.

![[AD] The sun has finally made an appearance and the boys have been making the most of it by spending it
in the garden.
They’re go-to is always football and they’ve been trying to improve their aim and accuracy with the new Messi Foldable Footlball goal from the #MessiTrainingSystem range.
I love the fact the goal is foldable, making it easy to store away when not in use. It is also lightweight so you can effortlessly pack it up and take it to the park or to a friend’s house.
The Messi Foldable Football Goal retails at £36 and can be purchased from @argos
